Cemeteries and Burial Assistance

The Tribe has three cemeteries on the reservation that have plots available for burial. Please contact Jolene Walters, Tribal Administrator, for more information about plots and burial services provided by the Tribe.

Burial Assistance

The Burial Assistance Fund pays $4,000 to the funeral home of the deceased Tribal Member. You must provide a death certificate and complete the Burial Assistance Form to be eligible for receiving assistance.

In 1854, the Kansas-Nebraska Act created our territories, drawing a line across the Iowa Reservation, which made us the Iowa Tribe of Kansas and Nebraska.
